Umpires
The RMSBO wants you to become an umpire. Officiating games is a great way to make some extra cash. Experience is not necessary. If you are new and never worked a game before that's ok, the RMSBO will train you. Professional umpires provide training for the rookie and the experienced umpire. The RMSBO pays the cost of your training. You may sign up with us during registration (see 2012 Registration Dates). This is a paid position. Umpires should be at least 13 years old by May 1st. Session dates and times will be posted at registration.
If you have any questions, please see Mike Sawicki during RMSBO registration or call him at
630-200-9197.
Managers and Coaches
Managers and Coaches will be required to become certified by the RMSBO.
To do this, you will need to attend one certification clinic. Dates for 2012 will be posted soon.
RMSBO Tournament Teams
These teams will play in tournaments throughout the month of July. These teams play in at least three (3) tournaments, including the RMSBO tournament held at Clauss fields. The tournament teams are free of charge and anyone participating in our house program is eligible to try out for their respective age groups. The dates for the 2012 tryouts will be announced soon.
Tournament Teams are formed for the following age brackets:
Girls 10u, 12u, 14u, and 16u Boys 8, 9, 10, 11&12, and 13&14
All registered in-house players are eligible to tryout. If you have any questions please ask any board member during registration or ask the manager of your team as soon as it is formed.
Girls In House Softball
Our girls Minor, Major and Pony Divisions will once again compete against teams from Streamwood and Hoffman Estates. This started as an experimental league two years ago and has been a great success!
The RMSBO is also looking into the possibility of starting an all high school age (15 - 18) in house type league. This would be a recreational league comprised of girls who do not play high school softball. Look for more information at registration!
Our Partnership With the Local Park Districts
The RMSBO has a contractual agreement with both the Roselle and Medinah Park Districts. As the recognized provider of youth softball and baseball in the area, the RMSBO has usage rights to the fields and facilities within the Roselle and Medinah Park Districts. This is a long standing partnership that is continuing and will continue into the foreseeable future. We complement the Roselle and Medinah Park Districts on their dedication to making our playing fields the best they can be!
